What Does the following biopsy Result Indicate?

Im 40 years old and had my cervical polyps removed. The biopsy result is as follows: Cervical polyp showing chronic inflammation, Microglandular hyperplasia, marked squamous metaplasia. Endometrial polyps, fragments of endometrial curettings. What does this mean? My ob-gyne referred me to an oncologist.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hi I did review your concern.
Your biopsy result is indicative of benign process and you do not need to worry about anything.
A referral to an oncologist is made just as a precautionary step and to exclude any possibility of malignancy.
Microglandular hyperplasia is a benign condition associated with birth pills or pregnancy and nothing much to worry about
A repeat endometrial curettage may be done if there is a suspicion of malignancy but after 1 month.
I hope this helps
wish you all the best

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Anil Parth Desai's  Response
Hi I did review your concern
Your biopsy findings are indicative of benign and inflammatory changes since there is no dysplasia or evidence of malignancy
Microglandular hyperplasia is due to birth pill or pregnancy and is a benign proliferation of small glands.
So do not worry and the visit to oncologist is most probably just a precautionary one.
A need for repeating endometrial studies in form of curettings and ultrasound may be needed after sometime period to confirm benign findings and rule out any malignancy, especially if you are having any symptoms.
I hope this helps
Wish you all the best
